20 Dec Happy Holidays!
20 December 2022
“To be a conservationist is to be an eternal optimist. Pessimism serves no purpose, not when you are trying to change the world.”
Jan Deblieu, Meant to Be Wild
I think the same is true for fundraisers – that eternal optimism is a requirement; that pessimism serves no purpose.
It is too easy to lose sight of how important our work is. The role that you play – the roles we all play – in protecting little places and big places, in every corner of this country and this Earth, is more critical now than ever.
This week I’m wishing you and yours a warm and wonderful Holiday experience filled with rich food, close family, laughter, and a little time for being outside as well.
(I’m NOT saying take the week off! Fundraisers need to be accessible during the Holidays, just like accountants in April. See Annual End-of-Year Reminders.)
Thank you for being an optimist.
Thank you for trying to change the world.
Happy Holidays!
